Mr A’s Story – Morocco

1–2 minutes

From Uncertainty to Stability

In December 2025, Mr A received an Advent of Hope parcel of ostomy supplies. Support intended to carry him through the Christmas period.

For ostomates in Morocco, access to supplies can be both limited and costly. A single bag can cost $8.95 or more, placing essential care out of reach for many. When supplies run out, the impact is immediate. Mr A would often find himself confined to his home, unable to work, unable to move freely, and waiting for the next opportunity to access what he needs.

What began as short term support has since grown into something far more significant. Earlier this year, one of our volunteers travelled to Morocco carrying a full year’s supply of ostomy products for Mr A. Each item had been sorted and packed at a Footprints 2 Africa packing day before being transported across borders and delivered directly into his hands.

Today, Mr A has stability. With consistent access to supplies, he is no longer living day to day. He can plan ahead, return to daily life, and move with confidence, restoring a sense of independence that had been lost.

This is what access to the right support can change. We remain deeply grateful for every donation that makes moments like this possible. To the individuals, NHS Trusts, stoma support groups and DACs who continue to give, your contributions are not only reducing medical waste, but helping restore dignity and stability to those who need it most.
