Footprints 2 Africa works in close collaboration with Timothy Katele, an ostomate himself, to support vulnerable patients and under resourced hospitals in Zambia.
Following an introduction from a UK based charity that wishes to remain anonymous at this time, Footprints 2 Africa was asked to supply essential ostomy supplies support Timothy and to enable his distribution work on the ground . The donor generously funded the cost of the initial delivery to Zambia. Since then, several shipments have been sent to support Timothy’s own ostomy needs, alongside hospitals and individuals in urgent need. Working locally, Timothy distributes Footprints 2 Africa stock directly into Chimwemwe Hospital, Kitwe, as well as to vulnerable ostomates across surrounding communities. Beyond hospital distribution, Timothy also undertakes direct outreach. In one instance, he travelled over 100 kilometres to personally deliver supplies to a vulnerable elderly woman living in a remote village. She received six months’ worth of essential ostomy supplies, providing stability, dignity and peace of mind.
This collaboration reflects Footprints 2 Africa’s commitment to working alongside trusted local partners who understand the realities on the ground, ensuring donated supplies reach those who need them most.
