Hennie lives in Zimbabwe, where access to appropriate stoma supplies is extremely limited and often inconsistent. For a long time, this uncertainty created significant daily challenges, affecting not only his physical comfort but also his emotional wellbeing. When Footprints 2 Africa became aware of Hennie’s situation, we were able to respond by sending an eight month supply of stoma products. This delivery brought immediate relief and has had a profound impact on Hennie’s quality of life. Beyond the physical supplies, what mattered most was reassurance. Hennie has been supported with the knowledge that he is not alone, that Footprints 2 Africa is walking this journey with him and that ongoing support will be available going forward. Knowing that future access is secured has removed a constant source of anxiety.
Since receiving consistent supplies, Hennie has shared that his mental health has improved significantly. Daily life feels more manageable and the burden of uncertainty has been lifted. Stability, dignity and peace of mind have replaced fear and improvisation.
