Dickson’s Story

1–2 minutes

Dickson is 29 and lives in Tanzania. Born with a bladder defect, he underwent major surgery in 2015 that resulted in a urostomy. Since then, he has relied on urostomy bags every day to manage his condition and live a normal life. Without a stable income, accessing essential medical supplies has been a constant struggle. The uncertainty and exhaustion of trying to source bags took a heavy toll on his wellbeing and mental health, leaving him worried about his dignity and longvterm health. In December, Dickson received an Advent of Hope box from Footprints 2 Africa. Since then, we have continued to support him with regular supplies.

“This help has been my lifeline,” Dickson says. “I’m very grateful. My life has taken a different turn now.” Access to the right supplies has brought Dickson stability, confidence, and the ability to face each day with dignity.
